New Zealand Geographical Society Inc serves geographers in schools and universities, government and the private sector.
Its publications are read by geographers and people in allied disciplines in New Zealand and abroad. It provides resource materials for schools, and makes submissions to local, national and international agencies on matters of concern to geographers in New Zealand. And its conferences help keep teachers and researchers abreast with current developments in our subject. Our 24th conference, was held in Wellington in July 2008, entitled Inequality, Sustainability and Policy: Geography Across the Divide. The 25th conference will be held in Christchurch in 2010.
NZGS is your professional body, and as its President I look forward to working with you to strengthen its contributions to New Zealand environment and society.
Welcome to our website.
