The Auckland Branch will consider applications for grants-in-aid at the end of February and August each year. For 2007 the February deadline has been extended to March 15. An application form of one page is required and must be received by the branch secretary by the due date.

Support of up to three grant-in-aid awards per year, on average, for participation in a New Zealand Geographical Society conference or an international geography conference

• up to NZ$500
• paid up financial student member of the Auckland branch for at least a year (e.g. 2005 membership gives eligibility in 2006)
• give a paper
• endorsed by supervisor (who must be a member)
• application to include a 200 word abstract of paper
• summary of involvement in branch activities over past three years
• presentation and paper must acknowledge branch support
• grant-in-aid to be acknowledged in presentation and publication
• 200 word report on benefits of the conference experience (within once month of return) suitable for circulation
• any student member is eligible for only one award in this category
• preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received branch support
• payment on presentation of 200 word report
